Cultivation

A plant of the humid, lowland tropics, where it is found at elevations up to 500 metres. It grows best in areas where the mean annual temperature ranges between 22 - 28°c, but can succeed at 18 - 35°c. It prefers a mean annual rainfall in the range of 2,000 - 4,000mm, but tolerates from 1,500 - 5,000mm.
