Cultivation Details

HabitEvergreen Tree
GrowthMedium

Succeeds in full sun to moderate shade[1]. Prefers a moist, fertile, clayey soil[1]. Young plants have a moderate rate of growth[1]. Trees can flower almost all year round[1].

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in a nursery seedbed. Sow them on the surface of the soil and then water them copiously but carefully to bury them into the top layer of the soil without washing them away. A low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 30 - 40 days[1]. When the seedlings are 4 - 5cm tall, pot them up into individual containers and they should be ready to plant out 6 - 7 months later[1].
