Growth—
Often found on yellow sandy clay soils in the wild[1]. Signs of regeneration are very scarce, perhaps due to low fruit setting and seedlings seem to be affected by competition. The species regenerates badly in logged over forest[1]. A dioecious species, both male and female forms need to be grown if fruit and seed are required.
