GrowthSlow

A plant of the subtropics and tropics, found at elevations from near sea level to 1,100 metres. Prefers a position in dappled shade[1]. Prefers a well-drained, moist soil[1]. Newly planted young trees are slow to establish and grow away[1]. A dioecious species, both male and female forms need to be grown if seed is required.

Propagation

Seed - it has a short viability and so should be sown as soon as it is ripe. Sow in a nursery seedbed in a partially shaded position. Germination rates are usually low, with the seed sprouting within 70 - 80 days[1].
