Cultivation Details
Requires a sunny position[1]. Succeeds in a wide range of soil conditions[1]. The plant is considered to be an invasive weed of pasture land[1]. A fairly fast-growing plant, able to reach about 2.5 metres tall within two years from seed[1].
Propagation
Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed. A very low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 20 - 40 days[1]. When the seedlings are 5 - 6cm tall, pot them up into individual containers and they should be ready to plant out 5 - 6 months later[1].
