Botanical Description

Dactylorhiza euxina is a herbaceous perennial growing from a tuberous rootstock; the erect stems sre usually around 10 - 25cm tall, occasionally reaching 35cm[ 74 Title Flora of the USSR. The plant is harvested from the wild for its root, which is used locally and also traded. Dactylorhiza euxina is known from a number of records in northwestern Turkey and Transcaucasia (Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia).
