Botanical Description
Copaifera guyanensis is an evergreen tree growing up to 40 metres tall. The bole has a thick base. This is one of several major species in this genus that yield a balsam resin. Although varying in colour, aroma, flavour etc from species to species, the resin has remarkably similar medicinal properties and is used interchangeably[ 461 Title Diccionario das Plantas Uteis do Brasil Publication Author Correa M.P.
