Botanical Description

Phylloxylon spinosa is a deciduous tree. The tree is commonly harvested from the wild for local use of its hard and very durable wood. This species occurs in the northern tip of Madagascar, where its estimated range is 100 square kilometers. Selective and intensive felling for its favoured construction properties mean it is expected to decline rapidly.
