Botanical Description

Pinanga caesia is a single-stemmed, evergreen palm with an erect, unbranched stem that is topped by a crown of lightly arching leaves; it can grow around 3 metres tall. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a source of a masticatory and various materials. One of the more colourful of palms, it is often grown as an ornamental.
