Botanical Description
Elsholtzia splendens is an erect, herbaceous perennial plant with stems that are much branched above the base; it can grow 30 - 50cm tall. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine. It is used as an ingredient in commercial cosmetic products and can be grown on soils contaminated with heavy metals to help restore fertility and reduce pollution.
