Botanical Description

Allophylus cobbe is a very variable plant, mainly a shrub but sometimes straggling or climbing with a stem up to 4cm in diameter, and more rarely a tree that can be up to 25 metres tall. Tree forms have a straight, cylindrical bole that ca be free of branches for up to 10 metres, around 30 - 60cm in diameter, with buttresses up to 1 metre high[ 388 Title Guide to the Trees of Papua New Guinea Publication Author Conn.
