Botanical Description
Himalayacalamus asper is an evergreen, clump-forming bamboo that can grow 5 - 6 metres tall; the erect, woody culms are 10 - 20mm in diameter with thin-walled internodes 20 - 30cm long. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a source of material for weaving. It is grown as an ornamental in gardens.
