Botanical Description

Cranberry gourd is a perennial climbing plant producing annual stems up to 3.5 metres long from a fleshy rootstock. The stems scramble over the ground, climbing into the surrounding vegetation and supporting themselves by means of tendrils. The fruit is said to be sometimes harvested from the wild and eaten locally.
