Botanical Description

The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of materials. Cordia ellenbeckii is native to Ethiopia and Kenya, and its range is restricted in both these countries. The species is only found in three locations; there is habitat decline in Ethiopia due to forest clearance for agricultural space; and the habitat is also at risk from increasing aridity.
