Botanical Description

Miracle berry is an evergreen shrub growing 4 - 6 metres tall. Its fruit is gathered from the wild and utilised locally for its ability to modify the body's perception of sour flavours, making them seem sweet. This ability has seen an increased level of interest in the plant outside its native area and the fruit is now exported to many other countries. The plant is occasionally cultivated in west Africa and there are experimental plantations in tropical America[ 317 Title Mansfeld's Database of Agricultural and Horticultural Plants Publication Author Website http://mansfeld.ipk-gatersleben.de/pls/htmldb_pgrc/f?p=185:3:4292127278597336 Publisher Year 0 ISBN Description Terse details of a huge range of useful plants. ].
