Botanical Description

Cistus crispus is a much-branched, compact, busht evergreen shrub usually growing 20 - 50cm tall, occasionally reaching 70cm. The plant has been shown to have a number of medicinal properties, in particular as an antioxidant and antibacterial. We have not found any specific records for the plant being utilized as a medicine, though it is very likely to be used on a local basis. The plant is grown as an ornamental in gardens.
