Botanical Description

Garcinia dauphinensis is an evergreen tree The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood. Garcinia dauphinensis is only found in six locations in southeastern Madagascar. Most of the subpopulations of this species are found in several degraded littoral forest sites on sandy substrates and thus threatened by habitat destruction due to annual fires, mining activity and forest exploitation.
