Botanical Description

Pinanga crassipes is a single stemmed, evergreen palm with a very short, but quite thick, unbranched stem to about 70mm in diameter. Older plants form a short trunk and are topped with a crown of delicately pinnate leaves. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a source of a masticatory and various materials.
