Botanical Description
Schizostachyum beddomei is an evergreen, perennial, clump-forming bamboo with short rhizomes. The culms are usually leaning, from 3 - 6 metres long, 25 - 37mm in diameter with internodes 35 - 45cm long. The culms are gathered from the wild for local use in weaving and basket making.
