Astragalus myriacanthus is a spiny, deciduous shrub. This plant is one of the many species of Astragalus that produce tragacanth gum - a substance with many uses in medicine, as a food additive and in industry. Astragalus myriacanthus is known to occur in protected areas and the population is believed to be stable at present, although the range is not wide.
