Curitiba prismatica has a restricted geographical distribution and there has been severe fragmentation of its populations. It occurs in an environment marked by agropastoral, mining, urbanization and forestry activities, with less than 13% of its native forest remaining. Despite the species being found in several conservation units and being involved in reintroduction and population enrichment projects, a continuous decline in habitat quality and in the number of mature individuals is recorded, with an estimated reduction of 42% of its population. The plant is classified as 'Vulnerable' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2020)[ 338 Title IUCN Red List of Threatened Species Publication Author Website http://www.iucnredlist.org/ Publisher Year 0 ISBN Description A list of plants under threat and facing possible extinction, usually with brief details of the threats and information on habitat. ].
