Botanical Description

Salvia fruticosa is a much-branched, evergreen shrub that can grow up to 100cm tall and wide. A popular domestic herb, the plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and medicine. It is frequently used as an adulterant for sage (Salvia officinalis) and is cultivated for its leaves and essential oil in several Mediterranean countries.
