Botanical Description
Fagaropsis angolensis is a deciduous tree with a spreading crown; it usually grows from 7 - 24 metres tall, but specimens up to 40 metres have been recorded. The usually straight and cylindrical bole can be free of branches for up to 18 metres, though it is often branched near the base; it is up to 100cm in diameter, occasionally to 200cm; sometimes with buttresses at the base.
