Botanical Description
Cyrtochloa fenixii is an evergreeen bamboo, producing a clump of culms 7 - 10 metres tall from short, woody rhizomes. The woody culms droop at the tip, they can be erect, or have a climbing habit; the thick-walled stems are around 25 - 30mm in diameter, with 30 - 50cm between internodes. The culms are havested from the wild for local use in making baskets etc.
