Botanical Description

Asteropeia multiflora is a medium-sized evergreen tree. The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its timber. The tree has a fairly wide range and occurs in a number of protected areas. However, habitat loss due to exploitation of the forest for charcoal, fire, timber for construction, and shifting cultivation, plus the selective exploitation of this species for timber, may result in a future decline of the population. It is currently classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2011)[ 338 Title IUCN Red List of Threatened Species Publication Author Website http://www.iucnredlist.org/ Publisher Year 0 ISBN Description A list of plants under threat and facing possible extinction, usually with brief details of the threats and information on habitat. ].
