Sabal mauritiiformis is a single-stemmed, evergreen palm growing 10 - 20 metres tall. The unbranched stem is markedly swollen at the base; it can be 15 - 20cm in diameter; and is topped with a crown of 10 - 25 fan-shaped leaves that can be 150cm or more wide[ 768 Title Field Guide to the Palms of the Americas Publication Author Henderson A.; Galeano G.; Bernal R.
