Botanical Description

Ormosia nobilis is an evergreen tree growing up to 40 metres tall. The tree is harvested from the wild for local use as a source of beads and probably also for its wood. Ormosia nobilis is widespread in northern South America and is known to occur within a number of protected areas. Despite general threats to the habitat, it is not known to be threatened or in decline.
