Botanical Description
Fragaria chiloensis is a herbaceous perennial plant forming a rosette of thick, leathery leaves; it can grow up to 30cm tall. Spreading by means of stolons, the plant can form colonies. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and a medicine. It is sometimes cultivated for its edible fruit, and is also sometimes grown as an ornamental, where it can be used as a ground cover.
