Botanical Description

Cuphea melvilla is an evergreen, much-branched perennial plant with stems that can become more or less woody and persist. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine. It is often grown as an ornamental in the tropics, and sometimes in heated greenhouses in the temperate zone.
