Nectandra globosa is a tree, usually growing 9 - 15 metres tall but with occasional specimens becoming much larger with a thick bole[ 331 Title Flora of Guatemala Publication Author Standley P.C. & J. The tree is harvested from the wild for local medicinal use and as a source of timber. Nectandra globosa is widespread with at least 100 known collection localities. There may be some local threats from habitat loss, but it is not considered to significantly threaten the species globally.
