Cultivation Details

HabitDeciduous Tree
GrowthFast

Being a pioneer, the plant needs plenty of light, especially in the seedling stage[1] Natural regeneration of this species is generally good. It often suckers vigorously from cut stumps[1]. Plantations need not be weeded during the first 1 - 3 years and should be thinned 5 and 10 years after planting[1]. The rotation of Pterocymbium plantations is 30 years or less[1].
