GrowthMedium

A plant of the moist tropics. Plants can withstand occasional, short-lived frosts, but generally need a warm climate if they are to thrive[1]. Plants are tolerant of some water-logging[1]. Newly planted young trees grow away quite quickly and can commence bearing fruit within 4 - 5 years[1].

Propagation

Seed - the very small seed does not have a long viability. When sown fresh, it usually germinates well[2]. Cite as: Tropical Plants Database, Ken Fern. tropical.theferns.info. 2026-02-20. <tropical.theferns.info/viewtropical.php?id=Nauclea+xanthoxylon>
