The tree has been planted at 3 x 1 - 1.5 metres in plantations, where a rotation of 35 years is recommended[1]. During this rotation the mean annual volume increment is estimated at 12.1 m3/ha[1]. In natural forest in West Java seedlings of M. Glauca have shown increments of up to 6 cm in diameter and up to 9 metres in height over a period of 5 years[1].
