Safety & Hazards

Cultivation Details
Succeeds in full sun and also in partial shade[1]. Requires a moist soil[1]. A moderately fast-growing tree, able to reach a height of 2 - 3 metres within 2 years from seed[1].
Propagation
Seed - the seedlings are sensitive to root disturbance and so the seed is best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in individual containers. A low germination rate can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 30 - 50 days[1]. The seedlings grow away slowly, but they should be ready to plant out 7 months later[1]. The seed has a short viability, not exceeding 4 months in storage[1]. Stunning photographs of each species, brief details on the plant, its uses and how to grow it from seed. A superb work, with the minor irritation that the translation from Portuguese is not of the best.
