Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed - it does not require pre-treatment. A germination rate of 80% or more can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 8 - 12 days[1]. When the seedlings are 4 - 5cm tall, pot them up into individual containers and they should be ready to plant out 3 - 4 months later[1]. The seed remains viable for at least 6 months[1].
