HabitEvergreen Shrub
Growth—

This species tolerates temperatures down to about -7°c in Australian gardens[1], though this cannot be applied directly to British gardens because of the cooler summers, that can often fail to fully ripen new growth, and the longer, colder and wetter winters[PFAF]. This plant generally requires cold greenhouse treatment in Britain[2]. Requires a well-drained humus-rich soil and a cool root run[1]. Plants prefer some shade in Australian gardens[1], though are likely to require full sun in Britain[PFAF].
