Growth—
The flowers and fruits are normally borne on the current year's shoots which had sprouted, usually following fire, from the underground rhizome. When plants escape burning, branching occurs, and it seems that they can survive as low shrubs, for a short time. Since individuals more than 50cm tall have not been reported it would appear that this species has only a limited capacity for upward growth[1].
