GrowthMedium
Prefers a deep, rich, moist soil and a position in bright shade or full sun[1]. Established plants are moderately drought tolerant[1]. The tree can form pure stands when growing on white quartz sands that are useless for agriculture[2]. This species has a symbiotic relationship with certain soil bacteria, these bacteria form nodules on the roots and fix atmospheric nitrogen. Some of this nitrogen is utilized by the growing plant but some can also be used by other plants growing nearby[3].
