GrowthSlow
Grows best in a sunny position[1]. Prefers a fertile soil[1] A slow-growing plant, even when in fertile soil[1].
Propagation
Seed - it has a short viability and so is best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed or in individual containers. A quite low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 20 - 30 days[1]. When the seedbed-sown seedlings are 4 - 6cm tall, pot them up into individual containers and they should be ready to plant out 8 - 10 months later[1].
