Cultivation Details

HabitEvergreen Tree
GrowthSlow

Grows best in full sun[1]. Prefers a moist, well drained soil[1]. An unbelievably slow growing plant[1]. Some botanists are raising the possibility that this plant is carnivorous. Its leaves form a very effective trap for small animals, which die and rot there, providing nutrients for the plant. This possibly evolved after the last ice-age, when its habitat was a desert[1].
