Cultivation Details

HabitDeciduous Tree
GrowthFast

Prefers a sunny position[1]. Established plants are drought tolerant[1]. A fast growing tree[1]. The tree resprouts freely from the base if it is cut down or damaged by fire[1].

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe. The miniscule seed should be surface sown in a nursery seedbed in a sunny position. Water them in well so that they are slightly covered by the soil. A reasonable germination rate can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 25 - 35 days[1]. When the seedlings are 4 - 5cm tall, transplant them to individual containers and they should be ready to plant out into their permanent positions about 5 - 6 months later when around 30cm tall[1].
