Cultivation Details

HabitEvergreen Tree
GrowthMedium

Grows best in an open, sunny position[1]. Succeeds in poor, sandy soils[1]. Given the plants habitat, it is likely to be tolerant of strong, salt-laden winds[PFAF]. Young plants have a moderate rate of growth[1].

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in a nursery seedbed. Surface sow the small seed, then press it firmly into the soil before watering it in - being careful not to wash it away. A very low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 70 - 90 days[1]. A superb work, with the minor irritation that the translation from Portuguese is not of the best.
