Anacyclus clavatus is a very adaptable plant and has spread as a weed from the Mediterranean to northern Europe. Its main limitation seems to be its intolerance of wet soils and high rainfall areas[1]. Plants in this genus generally require a sunny position[2]. Found in the wild mainly on deep or superficial silty soils and chernozem, but also on other types of soil[1].
