Seedlings are tolerant of shade, but the tree becomes light-loving after the first few years[1]. A moderately rapidly growing tree[1]. Natural regeneration appears poor. Although many seeds are usually seen on the ground, insects appear to eat them rapidly[1]. No plantations have been made with this tree, but experiments would show whether it grows well from seed[1].
