Staphylea emodi
Staphylea emodi
Family: Staphyleaceae
Cultivation
Staphylea emodi is native to the Himalayas, where it is known to ascend to at least 2,700 metres. The cold-tolerance of this species is unclear - there are reports of it withstanding considerable frosts, though these reports may be based on the mis-identification of a specimen of Staphylea holocarpa. The plant is more likely to be only able to withstand short periods with temperatures falling to around -5°c.
