Gagea lutea is a moderately cold-hardy plant, tolerating temperatures down to around -20°c, with the dormant bulb withstanding soil temperatures down to at least -10°c. Requires a moist soil, preferring one on the alkaline side of neutral, and succeeding in sun or shade.
