Araujia sericifera is a plant of the subtropics, it can be grown outdoors in the milder regions of the temperate zone. Mature plants can tolerate some frost, but the young growth in spring, even on mature plants, is frost-tender and so it is best to grow the plants in a position sheltered from the early morning sun. Prefers a good loamy soil but succeeds in any fertile soil.
