Cultivation

A plant of the temperate zone, where it is found at elevations up to 2,200 metres. It grows best in areas where annual daytime temperatures are within the range 14 - 20°c, but can tolerate 6 - 25°c. It prefers a mean annual rainfall in the range 600 - 900mm, but tolerates 450 - 1,100mm.
