Adina rubella is a moderately hardy plant - it can tolerate temperatures down to around -10°c without damage and will usually tolerate -20°c - although top growth will be killed back at this temperature, the plant will usually resprout from the base in the spring. Succeeds in full sun to partial shade, growing best in a moist, acidic, well-drained soil. Tolerant of heavy soils, wet conditions and seasonal flooding.
